Championing Person-Centered Care Through PaCeM-Afro

Since 2022, Dr. Udho has served as Patron of the Patient-Centered Care Movement for Africa (PaCeM-Afro) at Lira University, mentoring student champions committed to respectful maternity care and interprofessional learning.

Through PaCeM-Afro, students engage in advocacy, community outreach, and scholarly activities that promote dignity and equity in healthcare delivery — particularly for women and adolescents accessing maternal and reproductive health services in Northern Uganda.

This community service role complements his research on person-centered maternity care and disrespect and abuse during facility-based childbirth.
